A Brief History of The Three Graces
Symbols of a maritime powerhouse
Port of Liverpool Building
The first of the trio to be constructed, opening in 1907. Its huge dome was designed to impress and served as the headquarters for the Mersey Docks and Harbour Board.
Royal Liver Building
Completed in 1911, it was Europe's first skyscraper and one of the first buildings globally constructed using reinforced concrete. It is famously crowned by the two Liver Birds.
The Cunard Building
Finished in 1916, it served as the headquarters for the Cunard Line until the 1960s. The design was heavily influenced by Italian Renaissance palaces.
