About Us
Travel guidance with transparent booking options
Welcome to Find Cheap Hotels. I’m Trav, the site’s travel mascot. We believe hotel booking should be clearer, more informed, and better value for travellers.
Find Cheap Hotels is a free travel resource and hotel booking directory. Rather than relying on live-price widgets, we publish detailed destination and attraction guides and connect readers to a curated selection of reputable travel agencies, hotel groups, and booking platforms. You always complete your booking with third-party providers, not directly with us, so you can compare available options for city breaks, coastal holidays, and business trips.
The Experience
A more engaging way to plan travel

Informed decisions
We go beyond outbound booking links. Our destination guides are designed to provide practical travel information, local insight, and useful context to support more confident decisions.
A dynamic website
Our destination pages include location-specific visual elements. Depending on the destination, pages may feature rain, snow, sun, drifting clouds, or evening skies to reflect the setting.
Trav the mascot
Trav appears throughout the site to provide visual continuity and destination-specific guidance. His appearance changes to reflect the character of each location.
An enjoyable planning experience
Our goal is to make the planning process more enjoyable by combining detailed travel information with a distinctive, destination-aware design.

The Story So Far
A message from our founder, Hasnaat Mahmood
Find Cheap Hotels was the first website I began developing under The Co Universe. For several months, it was my sole focus as I built the foundations of the platform.
By summer, I had created more than 2,000 encyclopaedia-style pages after extensive research, development, and sourcing. Although the volume of content was significant, it did not yet meet the editorial and technical standards I wanted to set, so I chose to rebuild the site from the ground up.
I restarted the project with a stronger emphasis on quality, usability, and editorial depth. Instead of relying primarily on desk research, I began working more closely with professional travel writers, experienced researchers, and local contributors.
We launched the first phase with a focus on England, covering 20 key destinations. Each location includes a hotel booking page, a detailed travel guide, and a set of attraction pages informed by local knowledge.
Why we changed our editorial approach
Although I have travelled extensively, I recognised that no single person can speak with authority about every destination. Much of the original site relied on online research by myself and adopted an encyclopaedic style. Rebuilding the platform allowed us to move toward a more useful model: content shaped by travel writers, researchers, and local contributors who can offer practical insight and stronger local context.
Building a distinctive brand identity
Alongside the editorial shift, I introduced Trav, our travel mascot. His appearance changes from page to page to reflect the character of each destination. On York pages, for example, he appears in Viking-inspired clothing, while in Oxford he wears academic dress. As the site expands internationally, that same approach will continue to give each destination a more distinctive identity.
Designing destination-specific pages
I also wanted destination pages to feel tailored to the place they represent. Pages for English cities may feature rain, passing clouds, or evening skies, while future alpine destinations may include snowfall. Some pages feature moving clouds and stars, some sun rays or moon rays. Warmer destinations can instead emphasise sun and clear conditions. The aim is to create a visually engaging experience that still remains clear and usable.
Accessibility and user experience
This experience is designed to remain accessible. For users who prefer less motion on screen, our animations respect device-level "reduced motion" settings and are disabled automatically.
More broadly, our objective is to build a platform that is genuinely useful. Through detailed guides, destination-specific design, and transparent links to booking partners, we aim to help travellers plan with more confidence. Whether you go on to book through one of our partners or simply use the information, we hope the site provides practical value at no cost.
Our Core Values
What guides our work
Consumer first
We design the platform to serve readers first. Clear information, usability, and value guide our decisions.
Authenticity
We prioritise useful, well-researched content informed by local knowledge and subject expertise.
Transparency
We explain how we operate, how we earn revenue, and how our content is produced.
Accessibility
We want the site to be usable for as many people as possible, including support for reduced motion, clear contrast, and accessible navigation.
Our Editorial Standards
Balanced, practical and clearly disclosed
We aim to publish balanced, practical guidance. If an attraction is overcrowded, overpriced, or unlikely to suit certain travellers, we say so clearly so readers can make informed decisions.
✍️ Who writes the guides?
Our guides are written by carefully selected travel writers, researchers, editors, and local contributors. You can read more about their backgrounds on our Authors & Contributors page.
🔎 Who checks the facts?
Each guide goes through an editorial review process. A second reviewer checks the content for accuracy, balance, clarity, and compliance with our editorial standards before publication.
🛡️ Do commercial relationships affect content?
No. We link only to reputable hotel booking providers. Commercial relationships do not determine our editorial opinions or the way we write our guides. Any sponsored placements or material commercial relationships would be clearly disclosed.
💰 Can hotels pay for placement?
We do not currently sell paid placement. Hotel and destination selections are made through our editorial process. If sponsored placements are ever introduced, they will be labelled clearly, and payment would never guarantee positive coverage.
Transparency & Monetisation
How we earn revenue
We believe users should understand how our free platform is funded.
Affiliate commissions
If you click an outbound link to a booking provider, we may earn a small affiliate commission at no additional cost to you. We disclose this clearly, including on provider-selection modals and in the site footer.
Attraction page disclosures
We apply the same standard of clarity across attraction pages. Where a link does not generate commission, we say so. Where a link may generate commission, that is stated clearly on the page so users can make informed choices.
Company Information
Who we are
FindCheapHotels.co.uk is operated as part of a wider group that includes FindCheapEverything LTD (UK Company number: 16467887) and The Co Universe LTD (Company number: 16368736), registered companies in England and Wales.
Together, these businesses support consumer-focused comparison and information platforms designed to make complex purchasing decisions clearer and easier to understand. We combine detailed research, editorial review, and plain-language explanations to help users make more informed choices.
Our approach differs from many comparison websites by placing explanation and context alongside commercial links. Through transparent breakdowns, practical pros and cons, and clear use cases, we aim to support better decisions rather than simply drive clicks.
